We made it.

I haven't been home all that much lately, and been feeling really bad that I haven't been there for my dog, Guillermo. So, today I decided we needed to take a walk together. Although Cassie's apartment is kinda far for him to walk, I figured it would be good exercise for him. All in all it's about a seven block walk. The first two of those blocks are up a pretty steep hill.

I case you don't know, Guillermo has an underdeveloped cerebellum, which causes him to walk all wobbly and sometimes fall down. This combined with the heat made it pretty difficult for him. He was doing good, but panting really hard about halfway there. He wanted to stop a couple times so we took some rest stops and I let him recover a little. When there was only about a block left I didn't think he was gonna make it, but I made him press on

By the time we got to Cassie's she already had a pan of water waiting for him. I brought it outside and let him drink it on the grass. Then brought it inside for him.

He wouldn't lay down for a while, but when he finally did, he didn't wanna get back up.

How far his tongue is hanging out of his mouth is a pretty good indicator of how tired he is. As you can tell here, he was tired to say the least.

It was really hot and I felt kinda bad for the li'l guy, but we had fun as always. Needless to say, we'll be getting a ride back home.

Down Home Cookin'

So, today I was working, and something came over me. I decided I had to eat beef stroganoff, tonight. Not just any beef stroganoff.. Mom's beef stroganoff. This ain't your run-of-the-mill Hamburger Helper. Of course, I had no clue how to make it or even where to begin, so I had to call Mom. I tried to document the process but I was too busy browning meat in the beginning, so I only got the last part. Observe..

I'm not much of a veggie man myself, so Cassie came in to cover that part. She even picked out the green beans.

If you're not too familiar with vegetables, like me, this is what a pan of carrots, peas, and corn looks like. At least that's what I'm told.

I don't know if this is the beef, or the stroganoff, or both.

I couldn't find the right noodles, so I had to settle for Kroger brand extra wide egg noodles.

This is the finished product. We used sectioned plates, but only had two different dishes. So we decided the forks could go in the empty section. (I suggested, chili cheese fritos, a piece of buttered bread, or a banana, but was turned down each time)

Prior to this night I had never attempted such a feat, but overall Cassie and I were very satisfied with the outcome. It wasn't Mom's beef stroganoff, but it definitely hit the spot.

Look at me, I'm blogging!

It seems nearly everybody has a blog these days, and people will find any reason to start one. Me, I'm still not sure what my reason for starting one is. I guess I'll find out as I go. Seeing as this is my first post, I'm not gonna get too deep into this thing just quite yet. I'll just start off by posting some photos I've taken over the past 6 months or so. Please, enjoy.
